1914 Pilgrim members separated to form Memorial Baptist Church at Fuller and Rice in St. Paul
1914 – 1918 Pastor, Rev. B. N. Murrell
1918 Pilgrim Baptist’s Churchmen cooperated to help found The Sterling Club and to build its club house
1918 – 1920 Pastor, Rev. B. H. Hodge
1920s Pilgrim Baptist Church published the Informer as a weekly newsletter to the community
1922 – 1938 Pastor, Rev. Lee Ward Harris
1925 Pilgrim’s Church member and Deacon, Frank Boyd, was a founder of the National Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters
1925 Pilgrim’s Church member and Deacon, Alexander W. Jordan, was a founder and officer of the Pullman Porter’s Benefit Association
1928 Pilgrim Baptist Church moved to 732 West Central Ave.
1929 Pilgrim Baptist Church played a central role in establishing the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
1936 Rev. Lee Ward Harris was chosen by the Twin Cities Ministerial Alliance as a delegate to the National Negro Congress
1941 – 1944 Pastor, Rev. S. E. Ware
1942, November Mr. Thaddeus W. Stepp member of Pilgrim and 2nd Lieutenant fought in the Spanish American War died (photo attached)
1944 – 1965 Pastor, Rev. Floyd Massey, Jr.
1948-1949 Education unit added
1955 Rev. Massey and members of Pilgrim spearheaded the drive to build a new Maxfield Elementary School
1957 New Pews and Hymnals were installed
1958 A wicks pipe organ was purchased and installed
1961, October 8 Pilgrim Baptist Church burned and celebrated the payment of its mortgage
1961, October 8 The mortgage for the education unit was burned
1962 Rev. Floyd Massey, Jr. was elected President of the ABC Foreign Mission Societies
1966 – 1970 Pastor, Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Whitaker
1966-1970, Between Pilgrim Baptist Church Built Pilgrim Community Housing Plaza and later named Bailey Morris Housing Plaza

1975 Stain Glass windows spear-head by Mr. Nathaniel Galloway Sr. a Trustee, and installed

1988 Pilgrim Baptist Church hosted the Gospel Music Workshop of America, mass Choir

2010 Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Charles L. Gill, Jr. and committee chaired by Dr. Nancy Walters, Pilgrim Baptist Church added the Pilgrim Legacy Wing which included an elevator and additional space
2012, October 28 150th Anniversary Celebration
2013, November 7 Installation Service of Pastor Reverend Dr. Charles L. Gill of Pilgrim Baptist Church as the Dean of the Congress of Christian Education, MN State Baptist Convention
2014 Pastor Reverend Dr. Charles L. Gill of Pilgrim Baptist Church was elected President of the St. Paul Black Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (S.P.B.I.M.A.)
2016 Pilgrim Kitchen renovated

 

Pilgrim Baptist’s members built Crispus Attucks Old Folks Home and Orphanage

Rev. Lee Ward Harris was elected the first president of the local Twin Cities Council of the National Negro Congress

Pilgrim Baptist Church established the Church Community Credit Union
