Worship Update 5-8-20

Greetings to the entire Pilgrim Church family,

Well, we are back in the saddle again, patiently waiting for the numbers of Covid-19 cases to decline continuously for two straight weeks before we consider reopening.  In the meantime, let us remember to keep all those suffering from the virus in our prayers, as well as the hard-hit states such as New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington, California etc.  Many churches have lost pastors and members, and of these churches many will not reopen and be closed for good.  As we continue in the Stay at Home mode, we continue to mourn the loss of loved ones, Sis. Elise Johnson received news that she lost her Aunt last evening, please lift her up in prayer, for she just lost her brother last week and memorialized her father’s one-year anniversary having passed away.  These are indeed difficult times.

Prayer Meeting and Bible Study are now available, led by Pastor Gill.  Prayer Meeting is available on Wednesday’s at 12 noon.  Bible Study is available Wednesday evening at 7pm.  To connect with us you may do so by dialing (832)831-2424 + Conference code = 204481.  This is the same number that you may call for the Pilgrim Prayer Line that will be open Sundays from 10am – 11am.  We have developed a new Sunday School class “Growing in Christ Bible Study” starting May 10, this Sunday, led by Min. Patrick and Min. Stephanie Burrage.  This class targets those in their teens up to 35 years of age, but all are welcome.  Growing in Christ is an adult class that will tackle real life issues while studying the bible for its answers.  This bible study will examine challenges believers and non-believers face every day.  Growing in Christ bible study will focus on how Christians face challenges and how the bible addresses these issues.  This journey will explore God’s word through faith and timeless truth.  Active participation through large group discussion, small group discussion and role play will be used to help learning.  Key verses: “To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.  Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become and become mature, reaching to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-13 NIV) This class will meet via Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89418742723  If you are calling by phone:
