Dear Pilgrim Church Family,
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus. Well, we are still here by His grace, isn’t that wonderful. Yea, we may complain as to being at home another week, but just think: a) we have a home to be in, b) we are secure in that home c) we are not in the middle of a severe winter d) we are able to look at others and enjoy their presence as opposed to being only looked at e) we have a reasonable portion of health and strength. So, when one views their present situation through these lenses, I believe, we have a lot of reasons to give God thanks.
Having listened to Gov. Walz’s press conference from this past Wednesday, we are still limited to gathering of ten (10) people or less. It is imperative, if we have never seen it before that we ARE BROTHER’S AND SISTER’S KEEPER (Genesis 4:9). But what does being one’s brother’s / sister’s keeper look like? When we turn to St. Luke 10:25-37 we find a vivid narrative commonly known as the Good Samaritan, this narrative presents a wonderful image of being a keeper of our brother and sister. During the current Covid-19 crisis, provides us in an odd way an opportunity to be such a keeper. By our staying home and not going out, insisting on wearing masks and reminding others to wearing masks in public places and staying connected to family and friends in a time where social distancing is encouraged … we are being our brother’s and sister’s keeper. Let’s do this Pilgrim, in so doing while being indoors, we can still have and intentional and effective witness. So, let’s be smart. Stay home, Stay Safe, and Stay Connected with our God and our family. In closing, let me thank each and every one of you for such wonderful birthday wishes, you indeed made my day special. Again, thank you.
